HHS Girls Feeder Basketball is dedicated to developing the next generation of Heritage High School athletes. Our goal is to maintain an inclusive environment where as many girls as possible have a place to play and grow within the Heritage system. We strive to bridge the gap between youth sports and high school competition by aligning our drills and philosophy with the high school program.
We focus on the "Whole Player" approach. Our coaches emphasize basketball fundamentals—shooting, ball handling, and defensive footwork—while teaching the team-first concepts used at the high school level.
Summer Connection: Our summer open gym sessions at Heritage High School are a cornerstone of the program. They offer a high-energy environment for skill refinement and a vital opportunity for players to get to know other girls in the community who share their passion for the game.
Skill-Level Placement: We believe in placing athletes where they can most effectively develop. While we primarily compete in the Gold Crown Competitive League, we can utilize other local leagues to match the specific competitive level of each team. This includes Just Play Sports (JPS) for advanced competitive play and South Suburban leagues for those focusing on foundational growth.
Practice Hubs: Our primary home for winter practices is Little Raven Elementary. Depending on gym availability and team needs, we also utilize Goddard Middle School, Euclid Middle School, and other local facilities.
Game Schedule: The winter league season through Gold Crown takes place in January and February. Teams typically play double-headers (two games) every Sunday, excluding President’s Day weekend.
